Your conversation with a creator
Your private thread, messaging, reactions, replies, and editing or unsending.
One private thread per creator
Everything you buy from a creator lands in one private conversation with them, reached by a private link. Purchases, deliveries and refunds show there as labelled events. Anything sent by Slip, not the creator, is marked "Delivered by Slip" or "Scheduled by" the creator. When the creator writes, it's them: Slip has no tools for anyone else to reply in their name.
Messaging the creator
By default you write to a creator by sending a tip with a message. The tip is in the message box: set the amount with − and + beside it (from $5), write your message, and send. You'll see the total with the Slip fee before you pay. Once you've bought from a creator, they can let you message them for free (then the tip is optional: tap Tip to add one). A tip doesn't include content or a promised reply, and you can cancel it within an hour.
Replying to a message
Tap the reply arrow beside a message to answer it directly. "Replying to" shows above the message box, and your message carries a small quote of the one you're answering. Tap a quote to jump to the original. Updates from Slip, like a delivery or a drop, have a reply arrow beside their time too.
Links in messages
When the creator sends a link to one of their pieces, it shows as a card with its price and a button to unlock it in the conversation, the same as a drop. Other web addresses are plain links and open in a new tab; Slip doesn't open or preview them.
Reactions
Tap the heart beside one of the creator's messages to react. Six favourites come first; + opens every emoji. Your reaction shows as a small pill under their message. Tap it again to take it back.
Editing and unsending
For 15 minutes after you send a message, tap the ⋯ beside it to Edit it (text messages only) or Unsend it. An edited message shows "Edited". An unsent message is replaced with "You unsent a message" for both of you.
Your standing with a creator
Next to the creator's name you may see your tier with them: New fan, Regular (3 or more purchases in 90 days) or Top fan (among the people who support them most). The first time you become a Regular or a Top fan, your conversation celebrates it with a card that stays there. Only you and the creator see your tier, and nobody sees where you rank.
Time together
Once you're one of a creator's regulars, Slip marks six months since your first purchase with them, then each year, with a card in your conversation. You and the creator both see it, and either of you can reply to it.
The name the creator sees
You choose the name the creator sees, and you can change it any time from the conversation. Leave it blank and you show as "Anonymous".
